Being an independent free house we are passionate about our beers and serve an interesting, exciting and ever changing selection of local and regional cask ales. To name but a few, from the Wye Valley Brewery in Stoke Lacy we regularly feature Wye Valley Best, Hereford Pale Ale and Butty Bach. From the Wickwar Brewing Company near Stroud we offer Cotswold Way, Bankers Draft and Rite Flanker. Goffs Brewery in Winchcombe produce a wonderful Tournament Ale and Cotswold Spring Brewery based in the south Cotswolds provide us with Gloucestershire's Glory, Old Codger and Old English Rose. The Cotswold Brewing Company, located three miles down the road in Foscot, was established in 2005 by Richard and Emma Keane. Just as we like to serve fresh, seasonal and local food, Richard produces four fresh, seasonal and local lagers – each are only available for three months of the year. We always have available Cotswold Premium Lager (5% ABV) and just like the aforementioned, is brewed with the German purity laws in mind. Apart from cask ales we offer draft Guinness, Stella Artois, Becks Vier, Kingston Press Cider and no fewer than 25 wines by the glass. The Bar and adjoining lounge area boast exposed stone walls, flagstone and slate floors, beamed ceilings and a roaring log fire. |
