In Oddington we are very fortunate in having two vegetable and soft fruit producers. Alan Cox grows the best asparagus in the area, cherry tomatoes, the sweetest strawberries you'll ever taste and Autumn Bliss raspberries.
We are proud to be supplied by our friend Christopher Adams, known to us as 'Grizz.' As a great ambassador for our countryside, his hobby is organic market gardening and on two sites within the village he produces the finest vegetables, of which we buy baby carrots, flat green beans, beetroot, spring oninons and yellow corgettes. From our own gardens we produce many herbs, redcurrants, blackcrrants, gooseberries and apples. Our association with Jesse Smith Butchers of Cirencester continues. They source our Hereford Beef which we purchase at 28 days ageing and Gloucester Old Spot Pork. A new addition to our cheese plate is Simon Weaver Organic Brie and his flavoured Herb Brie. These organic soft cheeses are made from cows' milk from Simon's own dairy herd on Kirkham Farm in Stow on the Wold. We also support local breweries - please visit the Food and Drink pages to read about our selection of ales. | |||||||||||
