The Horse and Groom, deep in the Cotswolds, is ideally situated to explore the very heart of England. The nearby towns of Stow on the Wold, Bourton on the Water, Burford, Chipping Campden and Broadway offer traditional shopping and beautiful walks with views across the rolling countryside.

The area is filled with hidden treasures to make your stay a magical one. Enjoy rural shopping at Daylesford Organic farm shop, Snowshill Lavender and Lapstone's idyllicly located furniture store. Batsford Arboretum is nearby, as are Chastleton House, Hidcote Manor and Blenheim Palace. For those with children who demand more excitement, the Cotswold Wildlife Park is just up the road.

More locally, we are lucky to have the beautiful St Nicholas' Church in the woods behind the village. It dates from the twelfth century and still has medieval wall paintings but manages to remain in regular use by the village, hosting a candlelit (because it has no electricity!) midnight mass on December 24th.
